Facing Your Fears

The Martial Arts and especially Mixed Martial Arts has completely and totally transformed my life in so many ways for the better. What’s so transformative about one on one live combat is that one cannot have ANY delusions about one’s skills, talents, strength, and abilities because you will be exposed – 100%. Fighting is all about being honest with yourself. There is no pretending here. You can either defeat your opponent or not.

If you’re a fighter, stepping into the octagon is LITERALLY risking serious bodily harm or death. My favorite MMA fighter of all time is GSP. Before every fight, he donned a kamikaze bandanna. This would get him in the right frame of mind for potentially “mortal” combat. Yes, GSP was no dummy. He knew every single time he fought that these moments could be his last on earth.
