Is The Pineal Gland The Way to Reach God?

I’m reading “The Psychedelic Gospels” by Jerry and Julie Brown. The case they present is the ONLY way to understand and experience God (make any sense of it all) is to ingest psychedelics (like Aldous Huxley did). Check this out:Gordon Wasson (1898-1986) took some sort of psychedelic mushroom and had a soul-shattering religious experience – ecstasy. he writes”…it permits you to see, more clearly than our perishing mortal eye can see, vistas beyond the horizons of this life, to travel backward and forward in time, to enter other planes of existence, even (as the Indians say) to KNOW GOD.” Though I’ve never personally experimented with psychedelics, this does make it absolutely enticing and compels you to think that YES there maybe a God.

This is a restatement paraphrased from Neil Degrasse Tyson – ” The universe is under no obligation to make sense to “us” (homo sapiens) nor is “God” for that matter.”

MMA Fighters Have Higher IQ’S

Just some clarification here: the exceptional (not someone like me – an amateur with marginal skills and talent) MMA fighter is smarter (much) than the average person. Seems counterintuitive, right? You mean a “dumb jock” who inflicts and endures extreme physical punishment is as smart as say an Elan musk? YOU BET!!!

I can turn this into a long essay, but I won’t( just basically throw out the facts and a quick explanation). Mixed Martial Arts is simply playing chess with one’s body. Not unlike chess, there is an infinite # of variables, choices, strategies, etc.

To focus on just one discipline or part of MMA, take for example BJJ, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, there are innumerable attacks and counter-attacks. As Rickson Gracie used to say, paraphrase – you make a move, I counter, you make another different move, and I counter with something different. Now I attack and you counter, etc. …this goes on forever if nobody is submitted, gassed – out, gives up, etc. Now consider all of the other aspects of MMA: striking arts, wrestling, Muay-Thai, Judo, boxing…and more.

I haven’t even gotten into timing, gauging distances, angles….on and on. And what about the psychological component? So just a little WhaDaYaThink. What do you think? I can write a book on this subject which would include not only the intelligence necessary to fight, but the obvious toughness, discipline, training, living with chronic injuries, obsession with winning, the devastation of defeat, etc. Fighting is the oldest, most primal, creative, and by far the greatest sport man has ever engaged in.

The Banality of Evil

Hannah Arendt wrote about the banality of evil at length, I guess one of the best examples of this horrible trait in humanity is Nazi Germany. These concentration guards who butchered and tortured other human beings day in and day out, were not what the average person would consider “sadistic evil monsters,” They were just ordinary people who had families and were capable of love and generosity but were subject to “the banality of evil.” Which I think is essentially something that all human beings can engage in, provided the right circumstances and goals are set in place. The mindset is simply – total indifference to suffering and compartmentalization.

I LOVE fighters e.g. Mixed Martial Artists, Muay-Thai (these guys are savages – just throwing bones), boxers, and wrestlers. And they don’t fit the stereotypes of being thugs and meatheads. Listen to MMA fighters talk. They’re polite, well-spoken, respectful, humble, fearless, and the toughest human beings on the planet. I live in physical pain 24/7 and so do they. You can’t imagine what these athletes go through.

Pink Floyd

March 28th, 2017 by Michael Tabor

‘The Wall’ by Pink Floyd was MY album (2bl). I played and replayed it hundreds if not 1000s of times. It spoke to me like no other expression of art had before. It was about alienation, isolation, mental illness, Nazi Germany, despotic regimes and ANGER In my opinion the angriest album EVER produced. It spoke to me. .

However, the real treasure was the album that came afterwards – ‘The Final Cut’ Wow, Wow, and Wow!!! This touched my soul – Roger Waters, again the motif of Nazi Germany and alienation AND so personal, personal – personal!!!

Facing Your Fears

The Martial Arts and especially Mixed Martial Arts has completely and totally transformed my life in so many ways for the better. What’s so transformative about one on one live combat is that one cannot have ANY delusions about one’s skills, talents, strength, and abilities because you will be exposed – 100%. Fighting is all about being honest with yourself. There is no pretending here. You can either defeat your opponent or not.

Subtle Essence

The absolutely most important thing in my life is Spirituality, connecting with God[s] or whoever is running the Universe (I have entertained the possibility that there maybe more than a God but perhaps several Gods. So, I am a Universalist like Aldous Huxley. Read this tale – this says it all.

When Svetaketu was 12 years old he was sent to a teacher, with whom he studied until he was 24. After learning all the Vedas (Hindu Scriptures), he returned home full of conceit, in the belief that he was consummately well educated and very censorious.
His father said to him,” Svetaketu, my child, you who are so full of your learning and so censorious, have you asked for that knowledge by which we hear the unhearable, by which we perceive what cannot be perceived and know what cannot be known?”
His father replied, “As by knowing one lump of clay all that is made of clay is known, the difference being only in name, but the truth being that all is clay-so my child, is that knowledge, knowing which we know all.”
“But surely these venerable teachers of mine are ignorant of this knowledge; for if they possessed it they would have imparted it to me. Do you, sir, therefore give me that knowledge.”
“So be it , ” said the father….And he said, Bring me a fruit of the nyagrodha tree.”
“Here is one, sir.”
“Break it.”
“It is broken, sir.”
“What do you see there?”
“Some seeds, sir, exceedingly small.”
“Break one of these.”
“It is broken, sir.”
“What do you see there?”
“Nothing at all.”
The father said,” My son, that subtle essence which you do not perceive there-in that very essence stands the being of the huge nyagrodha tree. In that which is the subtle essence all that exists has its self. That is the true, that is the Self, and thou,Svetaketu, art that.”

I’ve read and re-read this a dozen times and I am completely captivated by it. THIS is what God is!!! It’s a non-physical “thing”…SUBTLE ESSENCE is my mantra.

My liberal atheist friends dismiss all this but I think they’re foolish. There is something MUCH MUCH more powerful than us. I after all have been to the other side. Yes, I died and had an NDE (Near Death Experience) and there IS something. I connected with God and I also saw the evil one. I won’t elaborate here, another time perhaps. But, I swear to you – THIS IS 100% TRUE!!!

All Life is Unimaginably Complicated

March 23rd, 2017 by Michael Tabor

I will never ever post or interact with people on Facebook EVER again. It’s actually not Facebook that’s the problem, FB is in fact really just a prodigiously effective and great way to interact with other people, friends, old friends, family, strangers, etc.  The problem is the friend’s friends who end up in your FB circle and who happen to be stupid and hateful – you know people who voted for Trump. Sadly, I grew up in an incredibly backward and regressive small town in Bloomingdale, NJ. And I attended a high school with inferior unqualified teachers and moronic racist bigoted white trash students – Butler High School.

So, the reason I mention the aforementioned before I get to the point of my blog, is because my progressive intelligent friends I have now are completely perplexed as to how I ended up surrounded by redneck imbeciles. So there you go – I picked up my high school year book, sent friend requests, and not only did I befriend them, But I inherited about 2000 of their clueless friends.

Okay – this blog. I’m not going to write about stupid, ignorant people on FB (enough of that already). I on the other hand want to make the point that I do not really dislike anyone on FB. They just happen to be misguided and misinformed. And, most importantly they don’t know that every single issue under the sun is SUPER complex and nuanced. So, how do you communicate? Generalizations are easy and save so much time not having to articulate the subtleties, differences, nuances, exceptions, etc. Hence as a result with generalizations, you have nonconstructive hateful dialogues.

The real solution (which is impossible to do now in 2017) is to somehow  convey information, ideas, concepts, opinions etc. with all the nuances and exceptions – covering both sides to whomever you wish to converse with. The problem with this, is that it’s impossible. Essentially what I’m envisaging is essentially trading whole scholarly books back and forth in a way that can be transmitted, processed, and understood instantaneously. Unfortunately, we’re not there yet. But, I’m optimistic – it’s coming – Hello Cyborgs. So, WhaDaYaThink? What do you think?

P.S.- I absolutely LOVE 100’s Of people on my FB page. You know who you are – I won’t mention any last names for confidentiality reasons. But Michelle, Gary, Kevin, Karl….and so many more. Love, hugs, and kisses.

Tyler Talks Trip To Mars

March 22nd, 2017 by Michael Tabor

Hi, everybody! It’s me, Tyler!

I just heard that Orange Cat, I think his real name is Trumpet (you know, the cat that’s always blowing his own horn?) is funding 19.5 billion cans of Fancy Feast to send us to Mars in 2030. Anyone who wants to go will get healthcare for life!

First off, I just want to say, that’s a waste of good quality cat food, even if they do use the flavors I don’t particularly care for. (I’ve been told I can be finicky, whatever that is.) There are a lot of starving cats out there who would be perfectly happy to stay right here on solid ground and eat out of a dish that doesn’t float around. We want our meals on wheels and that means not airborne.

Secondly, this is just a ploy to get his healthcare act approved. Ha!

Thirdly, I heard he doesn’t want to go to Mars himself! Well, why not, Mr. Space Cadet??? It’s perfectly reasonable to assume that a cat with orange hair would be well suited for a red planet.  Just think of all the real estate you can develop. Why, you can even change the name from plain old Mars to “Tremendous” Mars. You wouldn’t have to worry about Saturday Night Live either. I think the reception might be a little too fuzzy. But you can be sure we’ll blast them to you on the next flight because we just can’t wait for your tweets. Are you still eating canaries?

Fourth, you won’t have any concerns about your wires being tapped, it’s a long way off and that Russian cat can join you so you won’t be all by yourself. Oh, that’s right, you’re already all by yourself. Well….see, then you’re used to it!

Yes, Mr. Trumpet, I think we should begin your introduction into the space capsule for your new home office. Let’s call it the West Wing, shall we? What’s that? Some blond kitty is taking up residence there? That’s okay, plenty of room for the lot of you! And let’s not wait until 2030, there’s no time like the present! We know how impatient you can be. So, let’s get started. Counting down….

So…….whadayathink? Does anyone know the name of Orange Cat’s tailor to get him fitted with a space suit? What about the helmet? Does anyone have one big enough? How about using the top of a silo? Still too small? Wouldn’t it be fun to shave off all that orange hair and paste to his face? He would look a little like Rasputin, that other Russian cat. Are Putin and Rasputin related???

This portion has been sponsored by the National Endowment For The Cats. Thank you for your support.
